Why Sony is more frustrating than Nikon when it comes to shutter count

Sony A7-series cameras have always been popular for their electronic shutter (silent mode). The issue is that many Sony models count both mechanical and electronic shutter actuations in the same field — without distinguishing between them in the standard EXIF readout.
