The explanation is simple: they shot almost exclusively in CH (Continuous High) mode at 7–10 frames per second with the shutter release held down continuously.

3 Reasons CH Mode Accelerates Shutter Wear

  1. Thermal Overheating of Return Springs: Firing 20-frame bursts causes steel micro-springs to undergo rapid cyclic loading. Friction and deformation raise spring temperatures above +80°C (176°F), causing the metal to lose tension and elasticity.
